The brief concerns the creation of a new synthetic football field in replacement of the existing grass pitch with the construction of a new building including changing rooms, clubhouse, the site construction being carried out without disruption of adjoining sport activities.
Taking advantage of the existing topography, the “semi-encased” volume in the existing embankment minimized its visual impact in the landscape environment of the Alfred-Marcel Vincent Sports Park. The embankment also provides enhanced thermal and acoustic insulation for the south-east side façade.
The roof of the building is treated as an accessible terrace open to the public from above, with a natural separation between the public and players, offering large panoramic views of the ground and the city.
